How to Create a Month of Content in One Afternoon with AI
A step-by-step system for batching a full month of marketing content in a single afternoon using AI, with the prompts and the workflow that make it repeatable.
The reason most business owners fall behind on content is not laziness. It is the format of the work. Creating one post at a time, every day, from a blank page, is the slowest possible way to do it. Batching is faster, and AI makes batching realistic even if you only have one afternoon a month.
Here is the system, start to finish.
Why batching beats daily creation
Switching into “create mode” has a cost every time you do it. Do it once a month and you pay that cost once. You also think more strategically when you plan a month at a time instead of scrambling for today’s post. AI removes the slowest parts of batching, the drafting and the repurposing, so a month of content fits in a single sitting.
Before you start: three things to have ready
AI speeds up execution, not strategy. Have these in front of you first.
- Who you serve and what you sell. One or two sentences.
- Your content pillars. The three or four themes you talk about. If you do not have these, ask AI to suggest them from a description of your business.
- A voice sample. Two or three pieces of your best writing, so the output sounds like you and not like a robot. This step matters enough that we wrote a whole guide on it: how to make AI content sound like you.
The afternoon workflow
Step 1: Generate a month of ideas
Start with quantity, then choose.
Prompt: I help [audience] with [what you do]. My content pillars are [list]. Give me 20 content ideas for the next month, balanced across those pillars, that my ideal customer would actually care about. For each, note the pillar and the core message in one line.
Pick the best 12 to 16. That is a month of posting a few times a week.
Step 2: Turn ideas into a calendar
Prompt: Here are the 16 ideas I chose. Organize them into a four-week content calendar, spacing the pillars evenly and putting the strongest ideas first. [paste ideas]
Step 3: Draft in batches by format
Do not jump between formats. Draft all your posts of one type, then move to the next. Working in batches keeps you in one mode and keeps the output consistent.
Prompt: Draft the first six of these as short social posts in my voice. Here is my voice sample: [paste]. Keep each under [length], one idea per post, and start mid-thought, no throat-clearing. [paste ideas]
Repeat for each format you need: captions, email, longer posts.
Step 4: Edit for voice and accuracy
This is the part you do not skip. Read every draft, cut anything that sounds generic, add a specific example or number where the post feels thin, and fix anything that is not exactly true. The edit is where your judgment earns its keep, and it is fast because you are correcting, not creating.
Step 5: Schedule it
Load everything into your scheduler in one pass. Now the month runs itself while you go back to the work only you can do.
Take it further with Claude Code
Once this workflow is reliable, you can hand the repetitive parts to Claude Code, which runs tasks on your computer from a plain-English description. Instead of prompting format by format, you can have it take your chosen ideas and produce every format in one run, drafted in your voice, ready for your edit. That is the difference between doing the batch and having the batch done for you. We recommend Claude for this kind of work because it holds a brand voice better than other assistants across a long batch.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Skipping the voice sample. Without it, you get generic content you have to rewrite, which defeats the point.
- Editing as you draft. Draft everything first, then edit everything. Mixing the two slows both down.
- Posting unedited. A month of mediocre content is worse than two weeks of good content. The edit is non-negotiable.
- Planning with no strategy. A full calendar of off-target posts is still off target. Start from your pillars.
Your next step
